These summer contract positions are being supported through the Canada Summer Jobs program.

Looking to fill 2 positions:

1.Guest Service Team Leader
2.Community Outreach Team Member

 

DETAILS:
  • 8 week commitment contract to be completed by August 31st.
  • Start date flexible.
  • 30hours per week
  • Compensation: Minimum wage ($14.00/hr)

 

Eligible Candidates:

(a) are between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;

(b) were registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year;

(c) intend to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year;

(d) are a student in a secondary, post-secondary, vocational or technical program;

(e) are a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and

Refugee Protection Act* and;

(f) are legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations

 

(g) Guest Service Team Leader candidates should have some experience with leadership and be able to demonstrate good communication skills.

(h) Community Outreach Team Member candidates should identify how their character would lend itself to creating and maintaining relationships within the community. Experience with sales and excellent communication skills are necessary.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

GUEST SERVICE TEAM LEADER

Our Guest Service Team Leader would be responsible for assisting the Duty Manager in a number of tasks while on shift, including basic supervision of our Guest Service Representative (GSR) team members, cash and till management, monitoring inventory/stock levels and helping to achieve daily sales goals. This Team Leader would be partially responsible for a group of 2-6 employees depending on the day. They would share responsibility with the Duty Manager in ensuring all daily tasks are completed and that GSRs are given the appropriate reminders and encouragement to achieve daily sales goals. Ongoing shift cash management and inventory control are an integral part of proper business management. These areas would be part of the Team Leader’s responsibility as directed by the Duty Manager. They would be required to work both independently and as part of a team, coordinating with the Duty Manager and working alongside and supporting the GSRs.

 

COMMUNITY OUTREACH TEAM MEMBER

Our Community Outreach Team Member would be responsible for assisting the Special Events Supervisor and Community Outreach Manager in cultivating and maintaining relationships with the various local organizations and community groups. They would be responsible for arranging group discounts, supporting local community and charity events with on site pop-ups or donations, and assisting in Film.Ca events both on- and off-site within our Halton community.

This individual would be partially responsible for connecting with and maintaining relationships with various local organizations and community groups. They would be required to work both independently and as part of a team, coordinating with the Special Events Supervisor and working alongside and supporting additional employees depending on the nature of each specific task. They would share responsibility with the Community Outreach Manager in ensuring all assigned tasks are completed and all events and requests are adequately staffed and supported.

Excellent communication skills are an integral part of proper Community Outreach.
