SUMMER KIDS PROGRAMS
Updated July 3, 2020

Parents –

Under the guidance of the Province of Ontario, we are modifying our programs to ensure we meet the strict guidelines that have been put in place by the Ministry of Health to keep campers, and staff safe.

Drop-Offs & Pickups

All Drop-Offs will take place outside of the building to support the required physical distancing. While we will do our best to ensure this is a quick process, please allow yourself time at each drop off for this to take place safely.

All families will be required to maintain proper distancing while waiting to sign in for each program.

Pickup will also take place outside. Parents will not be allowed to enter our indoor camp rooms/facility as per Ministry of Health guidelines.

Communication

Parents will be provided with contact information for any admin-related questions that come up during our summer programs. To support physical distancing requirements; and maintain a good flow to the process, Drop-Off and Pickup will not be the best time to have these conversations.

Direct email and cell phone information for our Camp Supervisor will be made available to our parents to discuss any questions or concerns that arise during our programs.

Cancellations

Our standard cancellation policy remains in effect:

Cancellations requested in writing 1 month prior to camp start date will be refunded in full. Cancellations requested in writing after the 1 month deadline, but 7 days prior to camp start date, will be refunded less a $45 administration fee per child, per week cancelled. No refunds are given within 7 days of start of camp.
If your child cannot attend for medical reasons, please contact us immediately for consideration.

NEW to our cancellation policy:

Should your child be required to LEAVE our programs due to COVID symptoms and in consultation with Halton Health, Film.Ca is committed to working with you to provide credits or pro-rated refunds as needed.

New Documents & Forms

Waiver

Each camper will be required to have a signed waiver on file prior to attending camp. This waiver will be sent out by email to all registered families within the month.

Daily Screenings
All campers, staff, and any visitors will be required to complete a daily online screening form (the link to this can be found at the top of this page).

What you need to know

  • Programs will be divided into groups/cohorts
  • Each group will have a maximum of 10 people (including leaders)
  • These groups will be kept separate and will operate with no overlap of leaders or campers
  • Each group will have their own indoor space available
  • While outside, groups will maintain a minimum of 10 meters distance
  • Each group will have their own filming equipment that will not be shared between groups

How do I know which group my child is in? How are groups determine?

  • Groups will be assigned in advance by our admin team
  • Children from the same household will be placed into the same group
  • Campers who are needing aftercare will be placed into the same group
  • *To avoid disappointment, please let us know right away if your child has signed up with a friend. If your child is in a “circle of 10” with their friend and does not need to be encouraged to maintain physical distancing, please let us know this as well.

Health and Safety

  • Hand washing breaks will be followed throughout each day (see below for more details)
  • Hand sanitizer will be available to each group throughout each day.
  • Camp groups will have designated washrooms for the week. These washrooms will be sanitized throughout the day.
  • Cleaning logs will be posted and monitored

Masks

We will not require campers/students to wear masks.

We encourage all children to bring a mask to camp so that they can wear it should they feel the need to. Our staff will suggest times when a mask will be good to have on, but again, no child will be forced or required to wear one.

Our STAFF will be required to wear masks while indoors. We believe this small gesture will give our families greater peace of mind about leaving their children in our care.

While outdoors it will not be mandatory for staff to wear a mask.
When not being actively worn, a mask will still be ready to put on quickly as needed.

Masks WILL be worn outdoors if the 6ft distance cannot be easily maintained, in closer contact due to filming or when assisting campers with first aid, etc. We will provide masks to staff as needed.

Handwashing

In addition to campers and staff washing their hands at drop off, before snack time and after using the washroom, they will also wash their hands after snack and after sneezing or coughing into their hands or a kleenex. Hands are to be washed for 20 seconds to reduce the spread of germs.

Signs have been added to all washrooms with these instructions. Hand washing using antibacterial soap and water is recommended over alcohol-based hand rub.

When Your Child is Sick

Staff will complete a basic health check and screening to ensure your child is asymptomatic when they arrive. Your child will also be monitored throughout the day.

If your child is showing ill symptoms at home they are not to come to our program (fever 37.8 or higher, new or worsening cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, difficulty swallowing, taste or smell disorders, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain runny nose or nasal congestion). In addition, children may also have symptoms of fatigue, increased falls, delirium, chills, headaches, croup, pink eye, and rash.

Your child and primary caregiver must isolate until a negative test is completed.  Please contact Halton Public Health 905 203-7693 for direction on testing and isolation.

If your child becomes sick at our program, they will be separated in an isolation room and supervised by one of our staff members who will keep a 6-meter distance. We will notify you to pick up your child immediately. If it is appropriate and feasible, we will place a mask on your child. Our facility will be thoroughly disinfected.

If you or your child are being managed by Halton Public Health, (e.g., confirmed cases of COVID-19, household contacts of cases) you must notify us and follow instructions from Public Health to determine when to return to the facility.

If you have any questions, please reach out.
